In a world with Augmented and Virtual Realities (AR/VR) becoming more common, this is how I envision what it could be like interacting with your environment.
Imagine you're wearing Meta Advanced Smart Glasses and you're walking down the street. You come across a cafe that you've never seen before. As you approach the cafe's sign, more details about the cafe is presented to you.
Because a world with AR and VR could add clutter to our everyday lives, users could be given more control in which AR or VR enabled artifact they interact with. This could be accomplished with gestures - hand signals or facial expressions, or voice command.
